CNC Molds N Stuff

As I am sure you are aware I promote my mold making business with videos, and social media posts.  I post on a variety of platforms.  Some only generate a few "impressions," and others might generate a few hundred.  Since it only takes a few seconds once I post something to post it somewhere else I usually post it or post a link to it on all of them.

For something like a short video I might get 20 to 30 views on most platforms, a few hundred to maybe 1200 of YouTube, and a few hundred to maybe 1800 on Instagram.  LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, & Rumble all combined might get a few hundred to a thousand.  Its hard to track how many views or impressions I get on Facebook, but on my business page "reels" has an insights link I can view if I am signed in as the business page.  Typically a short video in Facebook gets a few to several hundred views or only a very few in some cases.  They sometimes send me notifications like, "Your reel got 50 views, You can watch it now or upload another one to keep up the trend."

I constantly get customers (usually not customers) who grossly undervalue, underestimate the work, and diminish what they grudgingly admit I do to create a mold.  "Oh you just put it on the machine and walk away.  Why should I have to pay for that when you aren't even working."  I made this sarcastic video a few days ago, and posted it or posted links to it on all the platforms I mentioned.  It actually did about average or a little better on most platforms. 1900 views on Instagram, 1200 views on YouTube, and 26 views on Rumble. X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Threads didn't hit a 100 all combined as near as I can tell.   Nextdoor shows the post at 490 views, but since its just a link to the Rumble video (26 views) obviously nobody watched it from there.  Almost right away I started getting notifications from Facebook.  50 views. 500 views, 300 people liked your video, 19 people commented on your video, etc etc  Then I started getting notifications about older videos posted on Facebook.  A video I originally posted back in January that had about 800 views now has 9800 views.  Obviously, that's spillover from people watching my sarcastic video.

Now I don't get paid for views on videos.  None of my platforms are monetized except on Rumble where at the current rate I might make enough to actually get paid in about 180 years.  I just post to promote CNC Molds N Stuff.  My machining and fabrication business that mostly makes fishing tackle molds.  A few views here, and a few views there is just a little advertising exposure.  Nothing more.  The sarcastic video on Facebook?  73,322 views as of right now.  When combined with the views and impressions on all other platforms that might total 76,000-77,000 views, add on people who watched other videos I posted on Facebook as after viewing that one, and it might have reached as many as 90,000 exposures.  Probably 50 thousand different people.

I have had several more custom mold quote requests, and sold several more stock molds in the last few days than in any similar same length time period picked randomly out of the year.  If you are promoting your own business, you never know where you are going to get a burst of exposure from.   Facebook?  Really?  Yeah, this time.  I get a steady stream of exposure on Instagram, and YouTube does okay for me on short videos so I certainly won't abandon those, and I'll keep posting links to those on other platforms, because I don't have any idea when or where the next burst of solid exposure is going to come from.
